About
Salavation is an "open world" roleplay. This means that while there will be site wide plots and events available to the members, you are generally expected to come up with your own personal plots and take care of yourself on the site. This means that many of the threads here will have a "slice of life" feel to them, usually adding up to a larger plot planned by you for your character. We encourage members to interact with each other to enrich personal plots rather than relying on site wide events to further your character's plot. This ensures that everyone on the site will be included in the story in an equal manner rather than having "powerhouse" characters who control the movement of the sitewide plots. Likewise, it gives the administration a chance to use their characters instead of devoting their time to creating opportunities for other characters entirely. Obviously this will require a level of creativity and writing ability from the members of the site as well as a willingness to meet and communicate with new people, which makes for a friendly community full of creative and fun individuals who love the Renaissance Era and/or the Assassin's Creed Series by Ubisoft.
FAQ
.Q. Is Ezio going to be involved in the plot at all? Is some one playing him?
.A. We strongly feel that letting some one play Ezio or any canon character on the forums would be granting one person too much power within the plot. For this reason, Ezio and other main characters will only be referred to in a passing way by members of the Assassin's Guild, and no one will be allowed to claim that they are acting on his wishes or that they are familiar in a way that is more than a working relationship.
.Q. Can I play a historical figure from real life?
.A. Ubisoft and the makers of Assassin's Creed are fairly thorough in writing about most of the prominent historical figures of Ezio's time. As such, we are not going to accept applications for actual historical people - even if they are not mentioned in the games. There are strong possibilities that such characters could come up later in spinoff novels, graphic novels, movies etc that would become canon to the universe.
.Q. Do I need to be familiar with the Assassin's Creed Games/Universe to play on the site?
.A. No, technically all you need to be familiar with is Renaissance England - specifically around the time of the reign of King Henry the VII. The Assassin's Creed Games are all very historically "accurate" so anyone with the basic knowledge of the time period should be able to comfortably function on the site as a character not involved with either the Assassin or Templar factions. As your knowledge of the games increase (as it undoubtedly will) you will likely end up involving yourselves with either Assassin or Templar affairs.
.Q. Can I be an Assassin if all of the slots are filled?
.A. No, but you can start a character of a different trade that is allied with the Assassins. If a slot opens up, members are the first to hear about it, and you can simply have your character formally join the cause in game if you are accepted for the slot.
